Welcome to our regular Well Windsor update!
It’s been a few months since our launch party on World Mental Health Day in October, and we’ve been busy ever since…
Walking towards mental health impact
We were delighted to hear that two pupils from Eton College had decided to back Well Windsor for their social impact project.
Fundraising in the community
The Well Windsor team have been out and about raising funds through various events and fundraising initiatives over the last few weeks. We really enjoyed taking the first step of what we hope will be a long-term partnership with Windsor and Eton Brewery, by hosting an awareness and raffle presence during the recent England vs South Africa Autumn International rugby match.
Our next fundraiser is off and running!
We were delighted to see that Mrs Harris, Headteacher at Trevelyan Middle School has decided to choose Well Windsor as her charity of choice as she prepares for the Windsor Trail Run Half Marathon on November 10th.
World Mental Health Day
We were delighted to see Windsor awash with yellow and turquoise in support of World Mental Health Day and the launch of Well Windsor on Thursday Oct 10th. It was a designated non-uniform day and children and parents raised awareness and vital funds for improved local mental wellbeing services.
Well Windsor Launch
What a week! On the day before World Mental Health Day, we officially launched our brand-new charity… We hosted an event with 100 schools, businesses, community members and charities present where we talked about the need to come together to better support our local children with funds, volunteerism and advocacy at this vital time.
Never say never again
To draw attention to the launch of our new charity, I have decided to ditch the ‘never again’ promise I made in 2018 after my first Ironman triathlon and dust off the wetsuit, lycra and trainers for my second one on October 6th. A 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike followed by a marathon (26.2 mile) run. It falls just before our Charity launch on World Mental Health Day, October 10th.
