FAQs

  • Well Windsor is a volunteer-run charity established in February 2024 by a group of parents and passionate locals who want to better support our local children. Our remit will be to raise funds and direct these funds to our schools (via grants) to deliver incremental mental health and wellbeing services at this crucial time.

  • The UK Children’s Commissioner talks of a ‘crisis in children’s mental health and the services to support them’ in her most recent report in March 2024.

There are a number of different threads to this current crisis at both the national and local level. Whilst schools are trying their best, there is clearly more that could be done with extra funding and support from the community for targeted programmes. Rather than sit on the sidelines and watch this crisis unfold, Well Windsor is a vehicle to better support our young people at this vital time.

  • No. Well Windsor will focus on raising incremental funds from individuals, local and national businesses, events and other initiatives and provide this extra budget to schools to be able to better support local children.

  • The area defined as the town of Windsor incorporates Windsor Central, Dedworth, Clewer and Old Windsor, which is a total of 21 state schools and 6000+ pupils in scope. Our approach is to begin initial pilot services with a sub-set of these schools (see below), expanding ultimately to all schools in scope as additional funds are raised.

  • Well Windsor will pilot services from September 2024 with eight schools. These are primarily in the Windsor Learning Partnership for access to the largest number of pupils and for simplicity of communication.

  • The Pilot Programme will be up and running from September 2024 with the selected schools. If you represent a school not in the Pilot Programme, please contact us at hello@wellwindsor.org.uk for a discussion on what comes next.

  • Well Windsor is volunteer-run, pays no salaries and pays for no premises. As far as is possible (i.e. with the exception of the overheads required to run a charity) all money will be directed to school grants.

  • If you have an idea, are keen to contribute or volunteer to support our schools, please get in touch at hell@wellwindsor.org.uk

  • Well Windsor is run according to the strict regulations laid out by the Charity Commission. Whilst we do not provide services directly, we have Trustees and Advisors with extensive experience across Psychology, Education, Charity and Governance disciplines.
